Duration: contract to run until 30/01/2026 (possibility of extension)

Location: Wokingham (Reading) | Hybrid - 60% remote and 40% onsite

Rate: TBC

Clearance required: Active SC Clearance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Ensure platform reliability and performance against strict SLAs and KPIs.
• Implement and maintain cloud-native observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Kustomize or Helm.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using Tekton and ArgoCD.
• Support and troubleshoot OpenShift Operators (ServiceMesh, ODF, ACS, ACM, AMQ).
• Conduct security reviews and implement controls aligned with national infrastructure standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote SRE best practices.
• Collaborate with vendors and IT teams for incident resolution and platform improvements.
• Collaborate with development teams to enable continuous delivery and operational excellence.
• Conduct handover sessions and provide developer enablement and support.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active SC Clearance
• Experience collaborating with Agile teams on deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management
• Proven ability to maintain platform reliability and performance against SLAs/KPIs
• Experience with cloud-native observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo)
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Kustomize or Helm
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines (Tekton, ArgoCD)
• Knowledge of OpenShift Operators (ServiceMesh, ODF, ACS, ACM, AMQ)
• Security-minded with ability to perform security reviews and implement controls
• Mentoring and leadership capabilities for junior engineers
• Strong collaboration with vendors and IT teams
• Ability to enable continuous delivery and operational excellence
