Role Purpose
As a Site Services Engineer at Mayerton Refractories, you will be the key point of contact for our customers within your region and will hold primary responsibility for regular account contact. Operating within high-temperature industrial steel environments at customer steel plants, you will oversee the installation, maintenance and the performance of our products. Key Responsibilities
Operational
- Provide technical support through the monitoring of our product and steel plant performance of your customer accounts
- Understand steel plant processes and parameters in order meet our customers' requirements
- Provide onsite support through the installation of Mayerton products on customer sites, providing technical support and guidance as required
- Undertake regular reviews and inspections of product vessels through both the build process and monitoring performance through its service duration. Additionally, provide feedback where necessary should technical interventions be required
- Complete monthly consignment stocktake, all required documentation and necessary processing to service customer accounts effectively
Technical
- In collaboration with the technical team, review plant parameters, processes and operational performance to improve outputs where possible
- Provide support through product trials, providing regular feedback to the team to achieve excellent product performance and secure customer accounts on a long-term basis
Sales Support
- Support the management team in the achievement of monthly and annual sales targets, by providing regular data analysis and customer information as required
- Continually identify new sales opportunities within existing customer sites (sales of additional products) and support the management team to agree and execute an account management plan for each customer
- Participate in customer account meetings to present Mayerton's full product portfolio, in alignment with the sales and account plan for the relevant customer
- Provide support to the management team where required with elements of customer pricing and contractual obligations, so that these are met and delivered
General Support & Compliance
- Undertake any other reasonable management request
- Travel to key areas as required, including conferences, business meetings and global industrial events
- Adhere to Company and Customers' Health and Safety and Security Policies and uphold the company values
- Comply with relevant ISO standards and adhere to Company policies and procedures
Skills & Experience
Desirable
- Experience of the steel and refractories industry. Knowledge or experience within furnace, ladles, brickwork and monolithics would be advantageous
- Ideally based in Sheffield, Rotherham or within 20 miles from these locations
- Previous knowledge and experience in a technical/ site services role
- Experience within a sales role
- Knowledge of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System (HubSpot)
Product & Market Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of product/service offerings
- Awareness of industry trends and competitors
- Ability to translate technical knowledge into solutions for our customers
Essential
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel to customer sites
