Join a highly successful and fast-growing £200m organisation specialising in Fire Safety and Electrical Services. With a strong reputation for excellence and innovation, our client is expanding their London operations and looking for a Small Works Engineer to support small-scale installation, remedial, and upgrade works across commercial and residential sites.

Role Overview

As a Small Works Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compliant fire safety solutions including small installations, remedial works, and system upgrades. This is a mobile role covering London, working with cutting-edge equipment and industry leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out small works including fire alarm installations, system upgrades, and minor electrical/fire remedial works.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across fire safety systems (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, AOVs).
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with current regulations and standards (BS5839 etc).
  • Liaise with project managers and clients to deliver works on time and to spec.
  • Maintain accurate records using PDA and job management systems.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and support with emergency callouts when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Fire & Security discipline.
  • Proven experience in the fire industry, ideally across both installation and remedial works.
  • Multi-skilled with knowledge of fire alarms, AOVs, emergency lighting, and general fire systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations (BS5839, BS7671 etc).
  • Ability to work independently and deliver projects from start to finish.
