Software & Hardware Engineer, £32K- £40K, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire Software and Hardware Engineer / Systems Engineer / Project Engineer role to

support the development of next-generation hardware and software for rail systems R&D programmes. £32K - £40K salary guide + pension + flexible working hours + early finish on a Friday + 25 days holiday and all bank holidays + private health. A fantastic opportunity for a Software and Hardware Engineer to lead on requirements capture, system design, software architecture, and codingwhile coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Your background as a Software and Hardware Engineer: You will hold a recognised qualification (HNC / HND / Degree) in an electrical engineering / electronics engineering / systems engineering or similar discipline. Any previous experience of control systems / SCADA systems or similar technology used within the rail or closely aligned industry sectors would be advantageous. Strong knowledge of system design (schematics, GA, electrical diagrams) and ability to interpret technical drawings. Any hands-on experience of software programming would also be advantageous. Software and Hardware Engineer responsibilities Responsibility for the hardware and software elements of cutting-edge rail R&D projects. Define and capture detailed software and hardware engineering requirements with internal and external stakeholders before project kick-off. Design and deliver engineering solutions in line with R&D requirements, including designs, drawings, and supporting documentation. Support the product testing phase of projects including the setting up of test rigs. Review technical specifications and provide technical support to clients, engineers, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with company and industry standards policies.
