Overview

We are seeking a talented and versatile Software Defined Radio (SDR) Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role specializes in GNU Radio and FPGA development on the USRP platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python for software development and be proficient in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA programming. This position requires a solid understanding of RF systems, including the ability to perform RF and antenna design work in the 2-8 GHz band.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement signal processing blocks using GNU Radio and Python.
  • Design and program FPGA logic for high-speed data processing on a USRP platform to support real-time signal analysis.
  • Generate and analyze constellation plots for QPSK and other modulation schemes.
  • Extract Channel State Information (CSI) and Channel Impulse Response (CIR) data from OFDM signals.
  • Conduct RF and antenna design work for the 2-8 GHz frequency band.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration between the SDR and RF front-end.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to signal acquisition, processing, and hardware performance.
  • Document designs, procedures, and test results for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

  • English is mandatory (written and verbal communication).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with GNU Radio and the USRP platform.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Experience in FPGA development with VHDL or Verilog.
  • Solid understanding of digital signal processing (DSP), including concepts like modulation (QPSK), OFDM, and channel estimation.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in RF and antenna design, specifically in the 2-8 GHz range.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a remote-first team.
  • Experience with other SDR platforms or tools.
  • Familiarity with software-hardware co-design principles.
  • Prior work with data visualization and analysis tools.
