AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon S3 and Amazon EC2, to consistently released new product innovations. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services. The Nitro firmware team, part of Annapurna Labs, is positioned in the heart of the AWS technology engine. We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join us in building the next generation of our products.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience with embedded software development
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Science or equivalent
- Fluent in C
- Experience with hardware/software interfaces at both the board and chip level
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of computer architecture
- Experience with SoC development life cycle
- Experience working in Linux environments
Key job responsibilities
You’ll have the opportunity to work on the technologies that power the world's largest cloud provider, in a dynamic, open, fast-paced environment. In this role you'll develop, design, maintain, deploy, monitor and support a very important component in the Nitro firmware.

Additional Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Further Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
