Our platform ingests diverse content from 5.4M+ documents and posts per day from more than 220,000 sources across published media, social media, podcasts, broadcast, and regulatory content. The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help us continue building world-class AI-powered solutions at scale. As a solid individual contributor, you'll work on complex features that directly impact how global enterprises understand and respond to their external environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering Impact Through Quality Software: Contribute towards features, from conception to production, ensuring high standards for quality, reliability, and performance
• Write clean, readable, and maintainable code that can be easily understood and extended by teammates
• Build robust observability into solutions through logging, tracing, and metrics for rapid issue diagnosis
• Break down complex problems into manageable, deliverable tasks

• Building at Scale: Work with services that process millions of documents daily across hundreds of markets and languages
• Design and implement APIs that are performant, secure, and developer-friendly
• Optimise database queries and data models for large volumes of real-time data
• Understand distributed systems principles to build resilient, scalable solutions

• Collaborating to Build Better Solutions: Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver customer value
• Maintain a product engineering mindset and discuss tradeoffs with the user in focus
• Participate in team ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement
• Pair programming to share knowledge and deliver high-quality solutions
• Articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in product and engineering forums to maintain high standards and share knowledge across the P&T group

• Embracing Modern Development Practices: Stay current with AI-assisted development tools and integrate them into the SDLC
• Balance AI assistance and critical thinking to ensure code quality and security

What We're Looking For

Technical Skills

• Experience with languages such as Clojure, Python, TypeScript, etc.
• Experience with API design and integration, including RESTful services
• Comfort with relational and non-relational databases and storage systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, S3, DynamoDB, Redis)
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code
• Proficiency in debugging complex issues and performance optimisation
• Security-aware development practices and knowledge of common vulnerabilities
• Willingness to work across the stack (backend and frontend)

• Development Practices
• Focus on observability and explainability over extensive unit testing
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies
• Understanding of DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent technical and user-facing documentation skills
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows
