Software Engineer - Equities Tech - VP at Citi

Role Overview

We are looking for a dev lead to work on a number of green field services within the structured products world. They will be instrumental in setting and ensuring best code practices and designing well-crafted software. The team works in an agile manner, self-organises their work with BAs and QA, engages with business users globally, and maintains autonomy over technology decisions. They own the continuous delivery pipeline through to production and strive to release frequently into production.

Responsibilities

• Develop software iteratively, from an idea through to production.
• Collaborate and lead with the rest of the team, pairing where appropriate.
• Build strong relationships with business users by understanding their challenges and designing systems to address them.
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.
• Improve and share engineering best practices across the technology team.

Technology Skills

• Role can be Full Stack or Frontend for the right candidate.
• Frontend: React and TypeScript with hooks and ES6; some apps may use GraphQL.
• Backend: Kotlin in a microservice architecture with Kubernetes/OpenShift containers; Kafka as core messaging; GraphQL server experience.
• DevOps: real-time monitoring, metrics, automated testing, CI, and trunk-based development.
• Experience with TDD/BDD and Agile practices is desirable.

Education

• University degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
