We’re looking for software engineers who can have a transformative influence on how we build, operate, and run our database infrastructure.

What will you do?

Design and build systems automation to enable Deliveroo to manage and operate our large-scale cloud database estate.

Work closely with DBAs to gain expertise in database engineering practices and technologies.

Develop best practices, tools, and libraries to make the AWS database ecosystem easier to use and more reliable for product teams.

Technical Execution

You will improve code structure, architecture, and review code produced by your team. This includes leading project planning, managing dependencies and risks, and collaborating with other disciplines such as PMs and product engineers.

You will aim to simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems, promoting visibility, operational readiness, and health of your team's systems.

Build relationships with other engineering teams, identify collaboration opportunities, and influence the technical roadmap within your team.

Participate actively in hiring and interviewing processes, and support the personal growth of colleagues to encourage efficiency.

We value experience in some of the following areas:

• Readable, well-designed, well-tested software
• Relational and NoSQL databases like Postgresql, DynamoDB, Redis
• Software engineering with Go and/or Python
• Cloud engineering, preferably AWS
