Job responsibilities
As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a crucial role in this initiative, dedicated to delivering an outstanding banking experience to our customers. You will work in a collaborative environment as part of a diverse, inclusive, and geographically distributed team. We are seeking individuals with a curious mindset and a keen interest in new technology. Our engineers are naturally solution-oriented and possess an interest in the financial sector and focus on addressing our customer needs. We work in teams focused on Platform Engineering.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance the developer experience, providing tools and infrastructure that support agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to continuously improve software applications and systems.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages (e.g., Python) and database querying languages.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, mobile).
- Experience with Public Cloud services in Production (e.g., AWS).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end or back-end technologies.
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
- Experience with tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Terraform Cloud, Slack, Grafana, SonarQube is a plus.
