Overview
Early experience completing work as directed, collaborating with teammates, and developing knowledge of relevant concepts and processes.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to exciting new features.
- Work with the other teams in Google’s watch software ecosystem.
- Improve the quality and functionality of Wear OS by fixing bugs found during development, user trials and fields.
- Work cross-functionally with other Google teams to enable Google services and experiences on watches.
- Build accompanying tools, tests, utilities and telemetry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with Android application development.
Preferred qualifications
- 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience building full-stack Android applications, ranging from building user interfaces to low-level Android libraries.
- Experience with Android or other mobile platforms.
- Experience with Android framework development.
- Experience with microcontroller or embedded systems architectures.

About the job (Continued)
The Core Platform team focuses on the key elements of the Wear OS operating system, including operating system foundations and services specific to the devices and services ecosystem. We have several exciting projects planned for the coming quarters, including features to enable more comprehensive and seamless experiences with Gemini, helping to expand watches implementation of Bluetooth protocols and restructuring the core operating system to be more performant, power efficient and reliable. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
