Salary: £42,000-£52,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

BBC Audience Platform is one of the BBC’s biggest and most ambitious online projects. Our aim is to personalise the BBC’s online experience and engage more effectively with our audience. Our services include Commenting, Moderation, Voting, Riddle and Reporting. You will be part of a team transforming the BBC into a data-driven organisation supporting the delivery of the BBC’s services such as iPlayer, News, Sport, Children, Weather, Sounds and TV to millions of people. Our tech stack is largely Java, Node.js and Cloud (AWS).


In BBC Audience Platform we use the latest tech, with teams that inspire innovation and autonomy, striving towards Continuous Delivery. Our products span the whole of the BBC and reach millions of users! Not only will you be working on great projects and with cutting edge technologies, you will be surrounded by a team of like-minded technology professionals from whom you can learn and grow. Role Responsibilities


As a Tester you will be responsible for Functional, Automation and Performance testing of our applications. The Audience Platform Participation team is responsible for looking after the Comments, Moderation, Riddle and Voting systems. Comments can be found on all major BBC product pages such as News, Sports, CBBC & Blogs, and allow users to interact and leave their views on stories they feel passionate about. The Voting system is not only used for high profile BBC Tier 1 events like Strictly Come Dancing and S.P.O.T.Y, but also supports voting on football games and other smaller events. Where you have user generated content you need moderation. Moderation is key to ensure The BBC is a safe and secure place where people can contribute without fear of being abused and victimised.


All of our services are AWS JAVA or Node.js based systems, developed in line with the BBC Best Practices. Having a strong testing knowledge of these technologies or suitable equivalents is vital.
