We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our team at Sophos, a leading cybersecurity company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines while ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and production reliability. This role will be part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team that manages production environments on AWS with EKS and ECS-based microservices. They are responsible for deployment automation and application deployments via CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. The team uses Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform to build secure, reliable, and scalable systems while enabling observability across the platform. They collaborate with application, engineering and security teams to ensure smooth delivery and adherence to best practices. They focus on incident management, proactive issue handling, and maintaining optimized system performance through analytics and automation. What you will do

Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform. Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions for secure and automated deployments. Implement and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, cost optimization, and security compliance. Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS). Handle microservices-based infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and smooth orchestration. Responsible for production deployments, ensuring smooth and secure releases with minimal downtime. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures. Set up and manage monitoring, alerting, and observability using Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar, with a focus on security and reliability metrics. Collaborate across multiple teams including development, security, and product teams to ensure smooth operations and delivery. Work on incident response, vulnerability remediation, and ensure systems meet SLA/SLO targets. Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices in deployments and infrastructure management. Work on an on-call basis to support production systems and ensure continuous service availability. What you will bring

3-5 years of experience in an SRE environment. Strong experience with Terraform, AWS, and security-first cloud architecture. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration. Experience handling microservices-based infrastructure. Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, and alerting: Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar. Experience with incident management, RCA, and troubleshooting production issues. Responsible for production deployments with high reliability and security. Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and security principles. Strong scripting and programming skills in Bash, Python, or similar for automation and operational tasks. Experience with cloud cost optimization and resource management. Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced product environment. Familiarity with SRE principles in a security-focused product environment. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Desirable

Hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, scripting & programming skills. Proven troubleshooting skills and deep operational expertise.
