All About The Role

We are looking for a mid level Engineer (.NET). This role focuses on enhancing order completeness across the order lifecycle and retaining customer trust to improve the customer experience. You will write and operate scalable and testable code, collaborating with other engineers and aiming for excellence. You will work with many teams, with inner-sourced development as our standard way of working. Ownership is a core engineering principle; engineers take responsibility for their work from discovery to production, ensuring ongoing reliability and stability of our systems.

Location: Hybrid – 3 days a week from our London/Bristol office and 2 days working from home.

Reporting to: Technology Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to refine ideas and deliver innovative solutions across team boundaries.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for new initiatives.
  • Participate in technical exploration and prototyping of new features and technologies, turning concepts into tangible software.
  • Adhere to JET-wide architecture best practices and help improve team standards.
  • Build and maintain a strong network across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C# and .NET Core; strong understanding of software architecture patterns.
  • Experience building and operating scalable, distributed backend systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other engineering teams, influence decisions, and reach consensus on paths to achieve results.
  • Good technical writing skills to articulate ideas and designs with colleagues.
  • Proactive and adaptable mindset with a passion for learning new technologies and exploring innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity with API Gateway management and OpenAPI specs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS).
