Overview
Lead Specialist/Engineer, Support Structure Solutions at Vestas. This role focuses on offshore engineering and project management to deliver site-specific tower and foundation design solutions for offshore wind projects. You will work with customers, sales, construction teams, and central engineering to provide optimized technical solutions and ensure alignment with project requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead site-specific Integrated Load Analysis (ILA) processes and tower/foundation design for offshore projects.
Collaborate with customers and their foundation designers to provide timely, optimized solutions and ensure interfaces with Sales, Construction, and Central Technical Functions.
Respond to customer inquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders related to loads and the support structure area.
Evaluate and document tower and foundation optimization levers to improve project value while managing risk.
Coordinate the site-specific ILA process with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customer alignment with design and optimization for project conditions.
Interface with the project design certifier and manage design certification activities; identify market requirements to promote product, tool, and process development.
Advance support structure functional excellence through regional and global improvement initiatives.
Strengthen in-house capabilities for foundation design analyses and ensure findings influence technical and commercial decisions through stakeholder alignment.
Qualifications
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant field of engineering.
Experience in offshore loads or support structure design; prior wind energy experience preferred.
Fluency in business English (spoken and written); additional Scandinavian or European languages are an advantage.
Ability to work internationally on large-scale industrial projects with demanding customers.
Professional presentation skills and ability to communicate technical topics effectively.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and commercial stakeholders.
Commitment to delivering results through teamwork and support.
Knowledge of offshore turbine load evaluation and relevant standards (IEC 61400-1, IEC 61400-3-1, etc.) is beneficial.
Knowledge of offshore tower and foundation designs and relevant standards (Eurocode 3, IEC 61400-6, DNVGL-ST-0126, etc.) is beneficial.
Customer focus with ability to build networks and manage relationships with customers and consultants.

Travel flexibility up to approximately 25 days per year.
