SQL Server Database Engineer with SSIS

OverviewOur Client is a bank based in Central London and is looking to recruit a Database Engineer with at least 5 to 7 years of experience working with SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver data pipelines to collect, validate, and prepare high-quality data, and automate and streamline processes used by different departments.Support existing SSIS ETLs (overnight and intraday), proactively fine-tune and enhance existing code to increase robustness and error monitoring.Support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms.Convert legacy Hyperion reports to SSRS.Software Development – Analyse issues raised by in-house systems (e.g., CORE, SharePoint interface, Equation end of day cycle) and translate business requirements into solutions based on system definition documents.Proficiency in advanced 4GL programming languages and application across the full development life cycle.Database Support – Build data pipelines within the SQL environment in SSIS, introduce new fields and data types for new information to be collated in the CORE environment; build tabular models (SSAS) for different business units; build reports using SQL SSRS; integrate with Bank sub-systems using data abstraction and connectivity layers (e.g., ODBC, ADO.NET); ensure the environment runs with high standards of housekeeping.SharePoint Integration – Integrate SharePoint and Forms with Equation to automate processes and eliminate duplicate entry; utilise web services to integrate modern technology with legacy systems such as Equation.End Of Day Cycle – Provide second and third level support for in-house programmes during the end-of-day cycle; analyse and rectify problems; take ownership and deliver timely solutions; provide out-of-hours support where required.Risk & Regulatory Duties – Maintain knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and adhere to Risk & Compliance policies; report breaches promptly; execute controls to minimise risk; identify new risks and escalate as needed.Training & Competence – Complete annual mandatory regulatory training and pursue recommended technical and behavioural competencies; act in accordance with the FCA/PRA Code of Conduct; fulfil business continuity requirements as directed.Qualifications / ExperienceDegree level qualification or equivalent.MS SQL stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) to a high level of proficiency – Essential.C# Programming / JavaScript programming – Desirable.Knowledge and Skills: software analysis and design best practices; dimensional modelling, entity-relationship modelling, normalised modelling; data warehouse design concepts (Inmon, Kimball).The position is based in Central London and you will be required to be in the office for 3 days a week.Please note the Client does NOT provide sponsorship.The salary for this position is in the range £65K – £75K.Job FunctionInformation TechnologyIndustriesHuman Resources Services amet note: This listing contains standard job-posting information and does not add non-role-specific details.
