Overview

- Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
- Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage appropriate data volumes and velocity, while adhering to required security measures.
- Develop processing and analysis algorithms suitable for the data’s complexity and volume.
- Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:
- Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Data engineering (Airflow/DBT, Spark)
- DevSecOps practices

This role is based in Glasgow.
Purpose of the role
To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
Accountabilities
- Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
- Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
- Develop processing and analysis algorithms suited for the data complexity and volumes.
- Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.

- Contribute to strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate policy breaches.
- Provide leadership or guidance to team members, define roles and responsibilities, and balance short- and long-term goals while ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive, including listening, energising, aligning, and developing others.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, guide technical direction, and mentor less experienced specialists.
