This is a senior engineering role on the AI team at hyperexponential (hx). You will help build an AI-enabled IDE and domain-specific AI peer-programmer for insurance, training in actuarial science and regulation. You will work with a team that shapes applied AI for insurance, with real impact on how insurers code, model risk, and make decisions at scale.

Your Role

As a Senior Engineer in our AI team, you will architect and engineer AI-driven products from scratch, addressing complex problems with no established playbook. You will design and implement innovative solutions such as specialized coding copilots within our proprietary development environment. You will have significant autonomy to lead groundbreaking experiments and quickly deploy your innovations to solve real-world insurance challenges.

What You’ll Do in Your First 3 Months

• Deeply explore our AI systems, architecture, and product suite; onboard and ship your first meaningful contribution by the end of the month.
• Take ownership of a scoped feature or improvement within one core product in hx AI, push changes into production, and demonstrate real-world impact.
• By the end of month three, be a fully embedded team member, help shape our roadmap, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate across hx to evolve our AI capabilities as we scale.

Your toolkit includes

• Extensive experience developing and deploying production-grade ML/AI systems at scale in cloud environments.
• Deep Python expertise; experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, and related tools.
• Experience with distributed systems and modern MLOps best practices.
• A self-starter mindset with the ability to spot high-leverage opportunities and execute.
• Strong communication skills; ability to make complex topics simple.

Bonus points if you bring

• Hands-on experience with LLMs in production, especially for NLP.
• Familiarity with regulated domains (insurance, fintech, etc.).
• A footprint in the community: open source, writing, talks, or contributions.

This role is Warsaw-based (flexible hybrid, no fixed office days).
