Location: Derby, Derbyshire Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (DOE) + Company Benefits + Flexible Working Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing team based in Derby. You’ll play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of structural solutions for major infrastructure, tunnel, and building projects across the UK.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid understanding of reinforced concrete, steelwork, and civil structures — someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to technically demanding projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed structural designs and calculations in steel, concrete, and composite materials.
*
Perform structural analysis using industry software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, STAAD Pro, Robot, etc.).
*
Prepare and review technical drawings, models, and reports.
*
Work closely with design, civil, and M&E teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
*
Conduct site inspections, condition surveys, and provide structural assessments and recommendations.
*
Ensure designs meet relevant Eurocodes, British Standards, and client specifications.
*
Support junior engineers and contribute to maintaining quality standards across projects.
Requirements:
*
BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
*
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a structural engineering design environment.
*
Proficiency in relevant software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
*
Working knowledge of UK design codes and building regulations.
*
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*
Ideally Chartered or working towards CEng MICE / MIStructE.
