️ Structural Engineer – Iron & Steel Plants Stockton on Tees Purpose: Design and analyse safe, sustainable, and cost-effective structures for iron and steel facilities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Produce and review technical documentation (drawings, specs, calculations, manuals). Act as the structural lead on projects, ensuring technical integrity and commercial viability. Liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Conduct structural calculations and review civil engineering aspects. Oversee manufacturing, testing, and installation of structures. Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments. Advise on construction methodologies and best practices. Skills & Competencies: Strong grasp of heavy industry turnkey projects. Proficient in structural design and calculations (MathCAD/Excel). Basic CAD skills (Autodesk ); advanced 3D CAD is a plus. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Experience & Qualifications: Minimum 2 years in industrial structural engineering. Degree in Structural Engineering ; HNC/HND considered. Experience in heavy industry or iron & steel sector desirable. Project lifecycle exposure and professional membership advantageous.
