Structural Investigation Engineer
RPS is currently seeking to recruit a Structural Investigation Engineer to join our Structures team.
About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple sectors, including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, energy, and more. We focus on balancing sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability, leveraging digitalisation to enhance project delivery. Our expertise spans decades, industries, and disciplines, helping clients harmonise design drivers through engineering, architecture, and development services.
What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression within our industry-leading team, known for its reputation and expertise in the built environment. You will be involved in delivering residential foundation and superstructure projects, including low and medium-rise housing and commercial developments. You will also help develop our structural investigation service for clients in London, Milton Keynes, and across the Midlands.
Duties Include:
- Structural investigation and reporting on various building structures from residential to commercial
- Assist in developing structural investigation services
- Manage projects and teams independently
- Financial responsibility for projects
- Prepare fee quotations and invoicing
- Manage staff and consultants
- Collaborate with stakeholders and clients
- Conduct site visits, structural surveys, investigations, and repairs
Who we’re looking for: Candidates should have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, be chartered with ICE or IStructE, or be progressing towards chartership. Experience in structural investigations, reporting, and repair of low to medium-rise residential and commercial buildings is essential, along with knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Eurocodes. Familiarity with Tekla and AutoCAD/Revit is preferred. Management experience is advantageous. You should be motivated, autonomous, and innovative.
