We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Setting Out Engineer to join a contractor working on structural steel projects across London. This permanent role offers taking responsibility for surveying and alignment works while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safety on site.\n\nOffice Location: West London\n Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum\n Start: ASAP\n\nResponsibilities\n\nWork closely with subcontractors to check and verify surveying works.\nUndertake pre-start base inspections, structural alignments, and as-built surveys.\nEnsure all surveying tasks are carried out to company, safety, and environmental standards.\nBuild strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal project teams.\nProcess planning, managing and deliver site surveying activities, supporting project teams with accurate data and reports.\nKeep clear records including daily diaries, calibration logs, and survey data.\nProvide technical support and guidance to site teams and subcontract surveyors.\n\nQualifications and Requirements\n\nCSCS Site Engineering Surveyor (or equivalent).\nRecognised qualification in total station surveying equipment.\nProven experience in the surveying and setting out of steel structures, including portal frames, medium and low-rise buildings, industrial/process plants, and refurbishment projects.\nSolid knowledge of construction practices, health & safety, Eurocodes, BS standards, and NSSS.\nSkilled in the use of Leica/Trimble/GNSS surveying equipment and software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.\nStrong eye for detail, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a wider team.\nExcellent communication and problem-solving skills.\n Interested applicants are invited to apply by sending their most up-to-date CV
