Job Title: Structures / Bridges Engineer - Highways Location: London

We are looking for an experienced Structures / Bridges Engineer to join our client's Highways and Traffic team on a permanent basis. You will play a key role in the inspection, assessment, design, and delivery of bridges, highways structures, and associated infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-profile highways and regeneration schemes, working with multidisciplinary teams and supporting the sustainable development of the borough's transport network.

What You'll Be Doing: ·Inspecting, assessing, and designing bridges and highway structures. ·Delivering and managing engineering projects from feasibility through to construction. ·Using AutoCAD (expert level) and drainage design packages for scheme delivery. ·Managing contractors and applying engineering contracts effectively. ·Preparing reports, analysing data, and making technical recommendations. ·Supporting and mentoring junior staff while ensuring quality and compliance. ·Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to resolve challenges and deliver successful projects.

What We're Looking For: ·Strong technical knowledge in structures, highways, and civil engineering. ·Proven experience in inspection, assessment, and design of structures/bridges. ·Knowledge of construction methods, Method of Measurement, and performance management. ·Contract and contractor management experience. ·Excellent organisational and communication skills. ·Expert-level AutoCAD user with ability to interrogate and analyse engineering data. ·Positive, proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills.
