Job Responsibilities
As a Student Placement Software Engineer, you will be contributing to leading-edge, real-life projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the design and implementation of specific 3GPP 5G protocol conformance features and toolsets.
- Supporting the design and implementation of 3GPP stack features, tests, and tools.
- Involvement in design and development of tools and features leading towards 6G.
- Investigating and resolving customer requests related to 3GPP 5G protocol stack.
- Learning about the development of complex software applications using C++ and Python, including testing strategies.
- Collaborating with industry experts in the UK and Germany to gain knowledge of cutting-edge wireless and telecommunication technologies, RF engineering, and AI/ML.
- Working independently or collaboratively in a dynamic environment as part of a larger team, depending on your current tasks.
- Gaining hands-on experience with AI/ML and its application in development and customer projects.
- Contributing to the 5G standardisation process through close collaboration with 3GPP experts.
- Participating in ongoing process improvement and innovation initiatives within the team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be studying for a degree in electronic engineering, computer science, AI/ML, or a related STEM field with programming modules.
- Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming (e.g., C++ or similar).
- Some understanding of wireless telecommunications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
