Due to significant growth across our Transmission and Distribution UK business, Wood is seeking a Subcontracts Engineer. We are open to applications from across the UK and will consider hybrid or remote working arrangements.

The Role

Reporting to the Subcontracts Lead, this role will be responsible for executing subcontract activities to ensure successful project outcomes in line with project requirements.

Expected:

• Degree or Diploma in relevant engineering fields (civil, building, mechanical, E&I) or Quantity Surveying, or a legal background
• Experience in contracting/subcontracting, preferably within Power, Construction, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Chemical industries; other industries will be considered based on qualifications and work similarity
• Effective communication skills with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Local knowledge of the area and suppliers
• Ability to work independently
• Experience in bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract terms, including flow head contracts
• Knowledge of NEC Construction Contracts is desirable but not essential
