We execute projects across the current spectrum of the energy transition, from designing a pipeline that moves our clients from coal-fired electricity to gas, to design and life extension of existing hydrocarbon systems, subsea equipment engineering for wind developments, through to pipeline infrastructure for carbon capture and hydrogen transmission. We are looking for motivated and passionate engineers to join a diverse team working in all areas of subsea engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Leading teams to deliver subsea engineering projects on behalf of our clients.
  • Leading the design of subsea systems to applicable codes and standards.
  • Leading the analysis of subsea pipelines and cables in a variety of load conditions.
  • Working within our proposal and project teams to successfully deliver high quality and value outcomes.
  • Evaluating, organising and prioritising workload including overseeing Subsea Engineers, providing regular feedback to the team.
  • Managing the delivery of scopes for the production of client deliverables, including design calculations, analysis models, specifications, study reports and presentations.
  • Mentoring the development of other subsea engineers.
  • Actively participating in training to pursue continuing professional development.
  • Taking a lead role in the continuous improvement of digital design tools.

Requirements

  • BEng / MEng Mechanical Engineering related degree or equivalent.
  • Professional Chartered Status (or working towards attainment) preferred.
  • Extensive experience of subsea engineering for the Oil & Gas upstream industry.
  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Experience in subsea engineering design, including pipelines, risers, subsea systems and cables for energy transmission (hydrocarbons, power, carbon dioxide and hydrogen).
  • Experience of integrity management work scopes, including Fitness for Service, Integrity Assessments, Life Extension studies, etc.
  • Experience of coordination of pipeline operational support scopes.
  • Ability to work in an organised manner both individually and as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Proven leadership characteristics, enthusiasm and a strong attention to detail and delivery.
  • Experience in project management and project controls.
  • Technical knowledge in related disciplines to manage key project interfaces (e.g., flow assurance, process engineering, technical safety and risk) to enable good project team interfacing.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (written and oral).
  • Offshore experience and certification advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in use of FEA tools such as OrcaFlex and/or Abaqus advantageous but not essential.
