The role involves working on engineering and construction projects primarily in industrial, transmission/distribution and renewable sectors, with a need to appreciate complex regulatory, technical and commercial issues and to collaborate with a broad range of senior stakeholders.Role descriptionThe energy landscape is rapidly transforming. As an Electrical Substation Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to accelerate your career as part of our Transmissions and Distributions teams, partnering with clients to understand their challenges and apply your expertise to solve them. You will be working on projects across industrial, transmission/distribution and renewable sectors.ResponsibilitiesClient liaison from initial contact through project deliveryDelivering small to medium sized projects throughout the project lifecycleProducing electrical engineering deliverables where appropriateCoordinate with CAD Engineers to determine safe, cost-effective substation design solutionsAdditionally, assist in delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, timeframe, and quality targets, promoting Arcadis services during interfaces with clients and internal teams. Contribute to achieving the divisional business plan and maintain/exceed client expectations while building networks within the industry. Travel to site locations/client offices across the UK may be required as projects permit.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree or relevant qualification in Electrical EngineeringExperience as a substation/plant engineer to regulated industry standardsPreparation of HV substation primary equipment design deliverables, feasibility studies, reports, programmes and cost estimatingBroad knowledge of transmission technologies and understanding of how these technologies influence operation and performance of the transmission systemProven ability to deliver engineering/projects safely to budget, schedule and quality that meets customer expectationsAbility to work with internal and external parties in a team-oriented environmentExperience in writing clear and concise documentationWhy become an Arcadian?Our work with clients has a direct impact on people’s lives and the planet.
