Supplier Quality Engineer – Contract

I’m currently supporting a global consultancy on a major aerospace project and we’re looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join the team in Derby.

• Rate: £410 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: Derby (5 days on-site)
• Duration: Ongoing contract

Experience with large aerospace organisations will be highly advantageous.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for ensuring supplier quality and operational performance across a busy aerospace environment. This will involve everything from supplier reviews and corrective action validation on the shopfloor, through to reporting, risk management, and supporting critical part deliveries.

Key skills & experience

• Strong knowledge of supplier quality processes and proficiency in 8D problem solving
• Experience conducting supplier reviews and validating corrective actions directly on-site
• Confidence working in industrial shopfloor environments and following through on actions autonomously
• Effective communicator, able to represent the client professionally with suppliers and internal teams
• Familiarity with reporting on OTD (On-Time Delivery) and OQD (On-Quality Delivery)
• Ability to manage critical parts, prioritise deliveries, and track/report operational progress
• Strong analytical skills with experience in risk identification, mitigation, and monitoring KPIs

Additional information

• This role is on-site in Derby at a supplier facility, so candidates will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance.
• Due to site restrictions, certain nationality limitations may apply.
