Supplier Quality Engineer Location: Office-based, West London

The Role We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen and support the company’s supply chain operations. This role will be pivotal in improving supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base.
Based in London, you will work closely with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams while also liaising with suppliers to achieve excellence in product and process quality. Occasional travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive and coordinate supplier quality activities within the supply chain
* Lead resolution of supplier non-conformities using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, etc.)
* Review and assess supplier corrective action reports for compliance
* Contribute to and conduct supplier audits, process reviews, and site visits
* Support inspection of new parts, engineering changes, and defective components
* Develop and maintain supplier KPIs, scorecards, and reporting
* Assist in supplier capability development through tools such as PFMEA and Control Plans
* Build strong internal and external relationships to promote quality and reliability
* Support new supplier selection and review of self-assessments
* Manage supplier escalations, deviations, and compliance reporting (Conflict Minerals, RoHS, REACH)
Essential Skills and Experience
* Strong knowledge of product and process manufacturing, mechanical/electronic engineering, and quality systems
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a regulated industry within a quality, manufacturing, or engineering role
* Technical qualification in a relevant discipline
* Proven track record in driving supplier quality improvements
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and TQM methodologies
* Degree in engineering or technical subject
* Internal Auditor qualification for ISO 9001:2015
* Experience with supplier development and process implementation
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and electronic schematics
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint)
