About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Consultant to join one of our teams located in Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow. It is an exciting time to be part of our broadened Sustainability group with a presence in every Hoare Lea office. We provide a diverse sustainability consultancy service promoting sustainable development for a range of projects across all sectors. Our Sustainability Group is an industry leader in sustainable design, construction and building operation, focused on higher environmental standards and driven by a dynamic, innovative culture. Responsibilities

  • Develop holistic sustainability strategies
  • Lead the delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.) from early design stages through to project completion/post construction
  • Undertake modelling and assessments, including embodied carbon calculations, circular economy consultancy, building performance simulation (operational energy estimates), and overheating analyses
  • Support the development of energy and sustainability strategies with clients to lead sustainability innovation on new and existing developments
  • Support the training of junior team members in workstream delivery, consultancy, and project planning
  • Contribute to the Technical Excellence programme on R&D initiatives to stay at the cutting edge; engage in industry research and authoring guidance

About you

You are likely to have knowledge and competence in a selection of the following fields:

  • Energy performance modelling
  • Whole life carbon assessments (embodied and operational) using OneClick or other methodologies
  • Circular Economy Statements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Experience working within the built environment sector
  • Currently working within a sustainability or engineering consultancy, seeking a new challenge at the forefront of the field
  • A degree in engineering or science with relevant experience and a passion for sustainable solutions
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic, progressive, and respected firm
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork
  • A shared commitment to sustainability
