Location: Portsmouth (Security Clearance Required)

Type: Full-time | 6 month contract

Salary: PAYE - £34.38 per hour, Umbrella - £50 per hour

Join a cutting-edge team developing advanced RF, Microwave, and mmWave systems for defence and aerospace applications. We're seeking a skilled RF Systems Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and validation of high-performance communication systems across the full product lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop specifications from RF/Microwave requirements, including frequency plans and interface definitions.
  • Define performance criteria and test strategies for verification and validation.
  • Create system diagrams and RF budgets across Rx/Tx chains.
  • Validate RF designs and support industrialisation through collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with security and integrity standards.

  • Essential Skills & Qualifications

    • Strong knowledge of RF, Microwave, and mmWave circuit design and analysis.
    • Understanding of EM field theory, RF measurement techniques, and environmental effects.
    • Experience with 2.5D/3D design tools and material behaviour at RF frequencies.
    • Degree in Engineering (IET-recognised).
    • Ability to work across disciplines throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Desirable

    • Familiarity with military satellite communications (e.g. MIL-STD-188-164C).
    • Chartered Engineer status and IET membership.
    • Experience in maritime domain systems.
