OverviewQuantinuum is seeking to hire a System Reliability Engineer for our Cambridge-based cloud platform, Quantinuum Nexus. Our team aims to support the effort of quantum researchers at every stage of an experiment, making working on quantum computers as easy as sending an email.ResponsibilitiesServe as an expert with managed Kubernetes instances (such as Amazon EKS) and the distributed systems built on top of them.Manage the architecture, performance, security and cost of the Kubernetes instance as a core part of the role.Use tools like Helm, Karpenter and k9s to meet the goals of the role.Collect logs, traces and metrics via OpenTelemetry and make them available through AWS products (e.g., CloudWatch) to monitor Nexus performance and reliability.Analyze readings to ensure Nexus meets high performance and reliability standards; use findings to guide improvement efforts.Actively report, monitor and diagnose issues during outages; read and understand production code to correlate with monitoring data.Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure the information needed to identify and resolve issues is readily available.QualificationsExperience with Kubernetes and Docker.Experience collecting logs, traces and metrics for distributed systems.Experience using AWS tools such as CloudWatch to locate bugs and performance issues.Experience improving declarative Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.Experience working on cloud-based systems where uptime and reliability are crucial.Professional experience working with Python.DesirableExperience with PostgreSQL.Experience working in a continuous deployment environment.Experience with triaging and debugging issues in code.Familiarity with the OpenTelemetry standard and SDKs.What is in it for you?Working alongside a highly talented team with leading names in the quantum computing industry.
