This role will report directly to the Engineering Leader and forms a key part of the Engineering Team.The successful candidate will be tasked with taking engineering requirements from customers and designing bespoke software solutions that are able to be delivered within time and cost constraints. This will involve interfacing with both commercial off the shelf (COTS) components as well as custom designed interfaces, LabVIEW and other software programs. The role will involve the creation of system concepts, bespoke software and fault finding.Key Responsibilities and RequirementsThis important role will provide an opportunity to design and engineer a wide range of bespoke products which allows our client's customers to benefit from our high quality engineered solutions that are consistently delivered on time, in full. Candidates must be self-motivated and have a passion for engineering, delivering projects on time and be keen to gain experience designing, developing, testing and commissioning a wide range of equipment.Requirements3+ Years Software design and development in National Instruments LabVIEW (CLD+ preferred)Demonstratable experience of software design process from development through to validationExperience in automated test, measurement or controlSystem design and specification documentationCreation of top-level system drawings and diagramsLiaise with customers on specific project requirementsProduce fit for purpose software within time and project constraintsSystem integration test and fault finding including on-site worksEssential CriteriaTeam player with drive to progress to senior levelGood knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEWProven track record of systems engineeringAbility to create high level system level designs by specifying instrumentation and sensorsSociable style with good drive and dedicationGood communication skillsAble to work independently as well as in a teamMotivation and a desire to contribute to a dynamic businessSolid ability to work to tight timescales to deliver projects on timeAble to interpret customer requirementsAble to work within tight budget and timescalesAble to self-manage to confidently achieve targetsAble to work in a multi skilled design teamPossess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteriaDesirable CriteriaKnowledge of GPIB, RS232, TCPIP, LXIExperience with National Instruments hardware including PXI and cRIOExperience using C/C++Previous experience of the aerospace and defence industryProven track record of designing bespoke test equipment #J-18808-Ljbffr
