The role contributes to UK national security and defence by developing and delivering operational capabilities in the Cyber, Cryptography and Operational Technology domains. Your Role As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be making a real and immediate contribution to UK national security and defence, developing and delivering operational capabilities in the Cyber, Cryptography and Operational Technology domains. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with customers as a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer, using strong business analysis, consultancy, systems thinking and requirements engineering skills. You will operate throughout a project's lifecycle to engage with complex stakeholder sets, scope and elicit their needs, engineer these into a structured, disciplined model of their requirements and drive subsequent development or acquisition of a solution. Responsibilities
Working flexibly either as part of, or leading, a team or singly, delivering customer-facing consultancy and business analysis to support internal and external customers in planning and management of acquisition, research or product development activities Understanding and analysing stakeholder needs to elicit, capture and manage their requirements for a capability Identification of, reporting back on, and development of additional customer business opportunities Technically leading the planning and management of acquisition, research or product development activity Leading project teams as a solution develops to ensure continuing compliance with requirements Analysing requirements and translating them into logical system requirements and constraints
Essential Experience
Ability to understand and analyse business needs (Operational User / Mission Needs) Ability to work with and support other Project/Systems Engineering and Subject Matter Experts to develop detailed designs and planning Solid Systems Engineering knowledge, MBSE experience desirable Knowledge of Cryptography (Crypt-Key), Vulnerability Research, Cyber Defence, or Cyber Exercising highly desirable
Essential Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or proven experience in an equivalent engineering role Intention to join/membership of appropriate professional body

Role Details This role is 37 hours per week based at our Malvern site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected. Location – Malvern The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing to the UK’s defence capabilities.
