Overview

Systems Engineer position based in Lichfield with hybrid working. Salary: up to £60,000. The role involves leading and supporting controls and systems engineering activities, ensuring ISO compliance, and delivering high-quality solutions for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and display effective communication internally and externally to achieve high standards and maintain the Company’s reputation and professional culture.
  • Develop procedures within the department to maximise productivity and extend the skills base and capability of the team.
  • Implement, monitor and react to departmental KPIs to optimise resource allocation and meet milestones.
  • Liaise with Project Managers to plan and prioritise team resources for profitable and timely delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and intervene when necessary to meet customer expectations and maintain the company’s reputation and commerciality.
  • Adhere to the Company Health and Safety Policy and related requirements for office and customer-site environments.
  • Ensure accurate quotation of Control and Systems engineering hours.
  • Adhere to commercial contract procedures and documentation; maintain ISO9001 procedures and ensure staff operate within the ISO framework.
  • Conduct regular audits of adherence to procedures and maintain relations with key suppliers.
  • Understand and respond to financial and budget constraints; promote right-first-time and continuous improvement.
  • Identify root causes of issues and develop plans to prevent repetition; advise on and provide customer solutions.
  • Any other duties reasonably associated with this position.

Essential Skillset

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in industry.
  • Excellent systems process engineering knowledge and experience.
  • Driven, with a strong drive to enhance skills.
  • Proven knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems.
  • Experience in tendering and estimating development time.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a technical team.
  • In-depth involvement with management and improvement of ISO standards and quality management systems.

Desirable Skillset

  • Brewing/Dairy/Pharma engineering or hygiene process industry experience and knowledge.
  • Experience in configuration, programming and commissioning of Siemens, Rockwell, OMRON, and Mitsubishi PLC systems.
  • Experience with SCADA platforms such as Aveva Wonderware, WinCC, GE iFIX, FactoryTalk, Ignition, Iconics, etc.
