We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for this exciting opportunity in a Company that manufactures and selss data and pressure control products that are used in the UK gas distribution network.
There are eight distribution networks throughout the British Isles which are owned by the clients Cadent, Northern Gas Networks, SGN and Wales & West Utilities.
Technical Sales Engineer – Candidate requirements
* Applications will only be considered from candidates from the UK Gas Distribution, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors
* Proven experience in a technical or commercial sales role in these industries is
* You must have sound technical knowledge and understanding of how the networks operate from the high pressure transmission system through to the medium and low pressure distribution networks to reach the consumer
* Relevant qualifications e.g. HND in a related discipline
* Excellent client facing skills
* You must be happy in a role that will require travel to client sites as and when required.
* A full driving licence
Technical Sales Engineer - Role overview
* Travelling to visit existing and potential clients
* Spending one day per week for office work at the firms HQ based in the Midlands
* Managing and interpreting client requirements
* Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
* Calculating client quotations
* Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
* Offering after-sales support services including technical support
* Administering client accounts
* Analysing costs and sales
* Meeting regular sales targets
* Recording and maintaining client contact data
* Co-ordinating sales projects
* Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
* Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product/service will meet client needs

* A starting salary of between £30,000 and £40,000pa
