Technical Sales Support Engineer

Our client has a vacancy for a Technical Sales Support Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to support customers and the sales force for technical matters. Technical support will cover the mechanical product range, specialising in pneumatics, actuators and vacuums. Commercial and market awareness of company product offering, supporting sales growth by training and proactive promotion of existing and new products.
The focus for this role is mechanical products, although the electrical/electronic interaction is becoming increasingly common.\n\nAs a global market leader, every team member has a voice and this contributes to success as a business. They have clear sustainable development goals as they believe in caring for everyone’s futures as well as for the future of the planet.\n\nHours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30am till 4.45pm, Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm.\n\nThe role:\n\nSupport for customer questions via phone and email\n\nProcess requests for special products and variations\n\nAnalyse, check and report on customer product returns\n\nProduct management including training, new product introduction and supersession of discontinued product ranges\n\nNew product development proposal activity\n\nMarket and competitor product analysis and understanding\n\nSupporting sales force with customer visits and application development\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Degree, HNC or HND Mechanical Engineering or related discipline\n\n * Able to communicate proficiently via telephone and email\n\n * Methodical problem solver who is logical, organised and able to keep clear comprehensive records\n\n * Experience working in an Engineering environment\n\n * Hands-on testing and diagnostic experience\n\n * Experience handling multiple projects with ability to prioritise, manage own time and meet deadlines\n\n * Ability to clearly and effectively present technical subjects, face to face and via webinar\n\nThey offer a competitive and attractive range of benefits which include, Private medical cover, life assurance, holiday purchase scheme and much more!\n\nDue to the large number of responses we receive it is not always possible to respond to every application straight away.
