Temporary Works Engineer | Chandlers Ford | Pumping & Civil Solutions We are working with a well-established engineering group operating at the heart of the UK water industry, delivering pump rental and fluid transfer solutions to major infrastructure clients. They are now looking to appoint a Temporary Works Engineer to design and manage temporary structures across a diverse range of pumping projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience designing temporary works in a live site environment. You’ll be based in the office, designing solutions that enable safe access and installation – such as scaffolding, pipe supports, access platforms and road closures – before taking them to site for implementation and customer sign-off. Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Plan and design temporary works to support project delivery and ensure safe access for installation teams * Create detailed technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software * Assess risk and compliance across all designs, ensuring health and safety standards are met * Organise site logistics and coordinate temporary works resources (scaffolding, plant, access structures etc.) * Liaise with customers and project teams to present temporary works solutions for sign-off * Collaborate closely with SHEQ, BIM, and Project Delivery teams to align temporary works with wider project requirements * Maintain clear documentation for all temporary works and contribute to audits, quality reviews, and safety checks * Foster a positive culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle Skills & Experience Required: * Background in civil, structural, or temporary works engineering * Experience designing temporary works in a construction or infrastructure environment * Familiar with AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and other CAD tools for technical design work * Strong understanding of health & safety in a site-based environment * Able to produce technical designs and risk assessments for temporary installations * Comfortable working with site teams and clients to explain, adapt, and approve plans * Excellent organisational and communication skills * Full UK driving licence – occasional travel required (pool/hire car provided) * No direct reports – this is a standalone technical role Summary Position: Temporary Works Engineer Salary: £48,000 – £58,000 includes Bonus Location: Chandlers Ford Duration: Permanent Start: Notice Dependent This is an excellent opportunity for a site-experienced Temporary Works specialist to take ownership of safe, compliant design work for a leading engineering group with a strong reputation across the UK infrastructure sector.
