Overview
Join to apply for the Test Engineer role at hackajob.
hackajob is collaborating with AXA to connect them with exceptional tech professionals for this role. It’s an exciting time to join the Digital team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers and to streamline and automate our business processes. We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our Engineering team to help deliver our digital roadmap, develop our people and capabilities, and support our engineering strategy to drive improvements across all teams.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a product-led operating model. In this model, all our teams align with value streams, which means that we have the necessary resources to take an idea from conception to completion with minimal handoffs. Our current focus is on developing our Single Digital Platform, which is based on Salesforce and involves a significant .NET estate, use of Azure services, and React frontend web applications.
As a Test Engineer, you will learn about recent technology trends and be able to influence the organisation to make the right choices. Our engineers are highly collaborative, they respect opinions and strive for continual improvement. You will contribute to our highly motivating atmosphere, in which people feel energized and enthusiastic about achieving common goals.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025, which could mean working from your assigned local office or travelling for business purposes. Our local office locations include Leeds, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Tunbridge Wells, and Bournemouth. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work as part of an Agile delivery team, using your skills and experience to identify bugs early in the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Work closely with development teams to streamline handover times and define completion criteria
- Manage our automated test pipelines, constantly looking for ways to increase test reliability and optimise coverage
- Join our AXA Health Test Guild and be part of a community of fellow test professionals
Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.
What You’ll Bring
- Practical experience testing web frontends and APIs
- Creative thinking and an exploratory approach to manual testing
- Hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated code driven tests against the .NET and React tech stacks
- Experience working in an Agile development team
- Ability to conduct non-functional testing, with a focus on Compatibility, Accessibility, and Performance testing
- Previous work with Azure pipelines is desirable
- Experience using Playwright, BrowserStack, Percy, K6 or Axe DevTools is desirable
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
