As a Principal Transport Engineer, you will lead projects in active travel, streets design, and traffic engineering; contribute to cycle priority and traffic signal design; apply and evolve best practices in urban transport planning; and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable mobility solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cutting-edge projects in active travel, streets design, and traffic engineering
  • Contribute to innovative solutions for cycle priority and traffic signal design
  • Apply and evolve best practices in urban transport planning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable mobility solutions

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (Engineering) and have achieved or be working towards a relevant professional accreditation e.g. CEng or CTPP
  • Experience in the Traffic Engineering field with ability to contribute to high-profile transport projects, particularly in urban environments; experience in cycle priority and traffic signal design desirable
  • Experience applying design standards such as Designing Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Cycling by Design or Local Authority Street Design guidance
  • Technical aptitude and experience in design and modelling software, particularly AutoCAD and LinSig
  • Ability to liaise and communicate with clients and manage tasks using appropriate program, budget and quality controls
  • Hybrid working option from Glasgow or Edinburgh offices
