Front-End Engineer React / TypeScript (Hybrid Belfast or Remote UK) Are you passionate about building slick, performant UIs that solve real business problems? Do you take pride in writing clean, testable React code and collaborating with cross-functional teams? My client is looking for a Front-End Engineer with strong React and TypeScript experience to help build and maintain user-facing features in a complex, enterprise-grade platform. Youll be part of a tight-knit agile team working closely with product, QA, and back-end engineers to ship features that matter. What youll be doing Building and maintaining modern web UIs using TypeScript and React (functional components). Writing robust integration and unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Creating wireframes and prototypes in Figma (or similar) for early feedback and iteration. Collaborating with BAs, PMs, and QA to deliver well-scoped, high-impact features. Applying a contract-first approach to component and API design. Contributing across the development lifecycle helping your team develop their T-shaped skills. Participating in agile ceremonies and fostering a strong delivery mindset. Documenting systems, processes, and UI components to support long-term maintainability. What theyre looking for Must-haves: 3+ years of commercial experience building web applications. Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript (other frameworks considered if recent). Strong understanding of automated testing for UIs integration and unit testing. Comfortable wireframing and iterating quickly using tools like Figma. Familiarity with agile development practices and modern DevOps workflows. Ability to work under pressure and focus in complex environments. Experience designing user interfaces that address business needs. Nice to haves: Experience with isomorphic frameworks like Familiarity with mono-repo tools such as NX or Yarn workspaces. Understanding of contract-first development practices (e.g. OpenAPI). Solid knowledge of AWS or cloud-native development environments. Awareness of accessibility principles and user-centric design.
