Job Title: Undergraduate Maritime Services Safety Engineer
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (Hampshire)
Salary: £24,300
We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements; for this role you will be expected to attend site 3-5 days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Safety Case architecture.
• Developing a unique mind-set in which the question to be answered is not how does it work, but how does it fail. To do this you will;
• Carry out a detailed Safety Inspection of the engineering design using tools such as Hazard Identification, Fault Tree Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, Event Tree Analysis and many others.
• Develop an in depth understanding of the engineering design.
• Provide compelling arguments supported by a body of evidence to answer subjective questions about failure modes, consequences, frequency, risk, and mitigations to ensure risk is reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).

Qualification Requirements

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Disciplines, Safety Engineering, Environmental, Physics.
