Role: Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer
Contract: Outside IR35
RC Fornax, a veteran-owned engineering partner operating within the aerospace and defence sectors, is looking for a Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to lead qualification and test activities across complex defence programmes. The role will focus on Environmental and EMC qualification, planning and executing test campaigns, and delivering assurance evidence across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Verification, Validation, and IVVQ activities from requirements capture through to system delivery.
- Plan, coordinate, and report Environmental and EMC qualification testing, including off-site testing at accredited facilities.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams conducting test and qualification activities, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.
- Act as the point of contact for technical requirements, test planning, and resource demand for Environmental and EMC activities.
- Produce and maintain documentation including test plans, procedures, reports, and compliance evidence.
- Support broader V&V activities across software and hardware integration where required.
- Represent the V&V team at project reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and change impact evaluations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of V&V processes and ensure compliance with industry best practice.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree/HND/HNC in Systems, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience delivering V&V activities across the systems engineering lifecycle in line with standards such as ISO 15288.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles relevant to test assurance and compliance.
- Experience leading technical teams and managing test programmes at third-party facilities.
- Competent with requirements and task management tools (e.g. DOORS, JIRA).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with experience engaging stakeholders and producing technical documentation.
Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidate must hold active Security Check (SC) Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance at the point of onboarding.
