ResponsibilitiesDesign of treatment systems to safely, efficiently and effectively treat wastewater; creates domestic or industrial wastewater treatment plants and CSO facilitiesAnalyzes operational data and performance of wastewater treatment systems, and makes recommendations for troubleshooting process operations and process optimizationAssesses the need for wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future residences and conducts feasibility studies for the construction of WWTFAnalyzes various wastewater treatment methods; recommends most effective methodAnalyzes treatments and disposal options for sludge, and recommends and develops sludge treatment plans or methods to best serve the assigned areaAnalyzes combined sewer system hydraulicsDesigns layout and specifications for sanitary collection systems and pump stationsDesigns layout and specifications for Combined Sewer Overflow storage and treatment systemsReviews and critiques water and wastewater treatment system proposals, plans and designsConducts appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projectsCollaborates with contractors regarding construction of new conveyance and treatment systemsEnsures building and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state and federal guidelines and codesConducts environmental studies regarding the collection, treatment or distribution of wastewaterMaintains knowledge and subject matter expertisePerforms other related duties as assigned RequirementsBS (MS Preferred) in Civil/ Environmental Engineering10-15 years of experience planning and designing wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater pumping stations, and/ or sanitary collection systemsExperience in planning and design of CSO facilities including conveyance, storage and treatmentStrong oral/ written communication skillsSalary is contingent on experience Hoyle Tanner is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
