Water Treatment Engineer

About the Role An industry-leading building services provider is seeking a skilled Water Treatment Engineer to join their permanent team on a prestigious commercial site in the City of London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in water treatment to take ownership of all water systems on-site, including cooling towers and closed-loop systems.
Key Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of water treatment systems across the building. Conduct water sampling, testing, and analysis to ensure compliance with Legionella regulations. Implement and maintain water treatment programs to control scale, corrosion, and biological growth. Carry out routine inspections, cleaning, and chemical dosing on cooling towers. Diagnose system faults and resolve operational issues. Maintain detailed records and ensure full compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and all relevant legislation. Report findings and provide technical updates to the management team. Experience & Skills needed: Extensive hands-on experience in water treatment, particularly with cooling towers and closed systems. Strong understanding of Legionella control and water hygiene best practices. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to water quality and system performance. Confident working independently and as part of a wider facilities team. Excellent record-keeping and reporting skills. Qualifications: Recognised qualifications in water treatment (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent). In-depth knowledge of water hygiene regulations including ACOP L8 and HSG274. Offer: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum. Monday to Friday working hours – no shifts. Permanent role at a high-profile commercial building in Central London.
