Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance of diesel and electric forklift trucks, including hydraulic systems, transmissions, engines, and batteries
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults and execute corrective repairs on-site or in workshop environments
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns swiftly and effectively
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Complete accurate job sheets, service reports, parts usage logs, and client communications for each assignment
  • Maintain van stock levels, liaise with parts controllers or service managers, and escalate quotes for major repairs

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ideally NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, Motor Vehicle Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or equivalent
  • Related experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical fault finding, ideally including forklift trucks or plant machinery
  • An understanding of diagnostic tools or handheld devices
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or within a team
  • UK Right to Work Only
