OverviewJob Title: 3rd Line EngineerEmployer: Foot AnsteyLocation: Hybrid working from Exeter, Bristol, Southampton or PlymouthRole: 3rd Line Engineer within the Core Infrastructure and Apps (CIA) team. Full-time role with an expectation of a minimum of two office-based days per week, travel to other office locations as needed, and alignment with the Technical Lead.What you'll doProvide third line support and resolution for incidents, requests and problems within an ITIL framework for business-critical applications and productivity tools.Act as primary liaison between application vendors and internal/external support teams to ensure stable and available solutions for users.Plan and coordinate application upgrades, ensuring timely execution and mitigation of end-of-life risks within change control, with thorough testing and communications plans.Support a dynamic transformation roadmap, including migration of core business applications to cloud platforms.Provide technical input into project delivery such as server builds, application rollouts and configuration changes.Create and maintain technical documentation (designs, runbooks, workflows, knowledge articles) for 1st-3rd line support and architectural approval.Make constructive recommendations to improve platforms and processes by researching solutions and presenting options to senior stakeholders.Evaluate third-party proposals for alignment with business objectives and technical compatibility.Monitor system alerts and respond according to predefined procedures.Work with Software & Data Engineer teams to maintain data processing and data feeds between systems.Collaborate with Cyber Security to ensure alignment with patching lifecycles and vulnerability mitigation.Coordinate with Managed Services Partner on network upgrades, changes, and application packaging, testing and deployments.Identify opportunities for automation through scripting and templates; operate within an Agile sprint model.Support onboarding and upskilling of new and existing team members.What we're looking forWe are seeking a highly capable and adaptable individual with a strong foundation in enterprise application support and modern cloud technologies.
