We are looking for an innovative, self-starting individual with a passion for working in the busy and dynamic bus industry. We are looking to recruit an Advanced Engineer (HGV Technician Level 3) to join our Engineering team, working a shift pattern of 4 nights on and 4 nights off. You will have half of the year to yourself unless you choose to work voluntary overtime to further boost the highly competitive wages that are on offer. 5 day shifts are also available.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, repairing and maintaining our buses.
  • Investigating and diagnosing mechanical and electronic faults.
  • Recording faults and the work carried out to fix them using a tablet.
  • Following safety instructions and reporting any issues.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Have at least an NVQ or City and Guilds level 3 qualification for maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles (or an equivalent international qualification).
  • OR at least five years’ experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles (evidence required).
  • If you do not currently hold an IRTEC in service maintenance technician, inspection technician and advanced technician, training will be provided.
  • PCV licence is desired but not essential. Training to drive our buses can be provided.
  • Good standard of Maths and English.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and service manuals.
  • Know how to use fleet management technical computer systems.
  • Works well in a team and can meet deadlines; flexible to work at a different depot or shift if required.
  • Willingness to undertake training as requested by the service manager.
  • Ability to take initiative and stay safety conscious in all duties.
