OverviewAnalytics Engineer - dbt & SQLLocation: City of London - Hybrid (3 days/week during probation, then 2 days/week)Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)Ref: J13009Sponsorship note: Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain robust data models in DBT, transforming raw data into high-quality, trusted sources for analytics and activation.Manage onboarding of new data feeds from discovery to documentation, collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.Champion data quality, creating tests and alerts to ensure confidence and consistency in outputs.Work closely with senior leaders across data and marketing to align models with business objectives.Contribute to and evolve Python tooling, adapting scripts and automations to support the wider data platform.Collaborate with teams across analytics, data science, and visualisation to ensure data is accessible, meaningful, and impactful.Take ownership of projects from design through to deployment, following agile best practices.Be a curious, proactive problem-solver who values clean, well-documented data and strives to make a measurable difference in how data is used across the business.Must-Have SkillsSQL - Confident in writing clean, performant queries; understands ANSI SQL principles.dbt - Experienced with building, testing, and documenting models in production environments.Python - Comfortable using and editing existing scripts; familiar with core concepts.Git - Solid understanding of version control and team-based workflows.Strong communicator - Able to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.Team player - Collaborative, curious, and able to work in a self-organising, fast-paced environment.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with GCP/BigQuery or other cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Preset.io/Apache Superset or similar).Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab CI.Background working with media, marketing, or advertising data.The OpportunityWork alongside smart, supportive teammates who care about data, performance, and growth.
