Join a team tackling one of the most significant challenges in computing by designing the hardware foundation for the next era of artificial intelligence.Location: Cambridge or Edinburgh (UK).This is a full-time, on-site position for Digital IC Design Engineers at all experience levels, based in Cambridge or Edinburgh (UK). The role involves end-to-end digital design and development, from microarchitecture definition to RTL implementation and verification. You will work closely with a highly skilled cross-functional team to ensure robust, efficient, and timely delivery of advanced AI ASIC designs.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement high-performance digital microarchitectures for AI processing cores, memory hierarchies, and interconnects.Collaborate with architecture, verification, and software teams to define features, develop specifications, and make informed design trade-offs between performance, power, and area.Ideal QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related discipline).Proven experience in digital IC design, ideally within AI accelerators, NPUs, GPUs, or high-performance ASICs.Strong RTL design skills using SystemVerilog/Verilog and familiarity with EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis.Knowledge of low-power design, high-speed interfaces (e.g., HBM, DDR5, PCIe), and standard on-chip protocols.Experience with microarchitecture exploration, performance modelling, and power optimisation techniques.Scripting ability in Python or TCL to automate design and analysis workflows.This is a superb opportunity to shape next-generation AI hardware from the ground up, working with a passionate team that values innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration.You will join as one of the first Chip Engineers within an organisation with huge funding.On offer is a top salary!
